Farm Stay in Lapland

Live with Huskies in Lapland – a soulful farm stay for connection, simplicity, and nature

You are warmly welcome to join us in a grounding adventure at Ilonka!

Slow down. Breathe deeper. Step into a different rhythm of life.

At Ilonka, you don’t just visit a husky farm

you live alongside the dogs, the land, and all of us.

This is a small, intimate farm stay in Finnish Lapland, where you are invited into everyday life: caring for animals, sharing meals, heating the sauna, doing handicrafts, and reconnecting with what truly matters.

Yes, you’ll meet our huskies —
but more importantly, you’ll connect with them.

  • 5 days’ stay for 2-4 persons
  • 890€/person, 550€/child (3-12 years)

More than a farm stay — a return to simplicity

This experience is for those who feel the pull to slow down.

Here, your days are shaped by nature and shared life, not schedules. You’ll take part in simple, meaningful tasks — carrying wood, preparing food, caring for animals — and rediscover the quiet satisfaction of being present.

This off-grid style farm stay in Lapland invites you to:

  • reconnect with nature and your own rhythm
  • experience a more grounded, hands-on way of living
  • share authentic moments with animals and nature
  • find calm in simplicity, silence, and space

ALL MEALS INCLUDED

  • Learn to cook on the fire; delicious meals from locally sourced ingredients
  • Imagine picking wild herbs, mushrooms, and berries, meeting the fisherman who brings you fish, collecting eggs from the henhouse, and then cooking using those fresh, local ingredients
  • Or do you want to go on a fishing trip with a local fisherman, and cook dinner from your catch?

ENJOY YOUR FARM STAY WITH US

  • Enjoy daily tasks with us. From taking care of the animals to fixing broken fences. From picking herbs and berries, to cleaning the henhouse. From making birch whisks and warming the sauna to combing and cuddling the sheep.
  • Learn about self-sufficiency, about preserving, and how to prepare a finnish sauna. And of course, enjoy the relaxing traditional sauna experience.
  • Enjoy the season of the Midnight Sun. Late evenings by the fire and early mornings with the dogs. And let’s take a trip to the beach and see some reindeer or visit one of the local museums!

LUXYRY ON THE FARM

After a long day, enjoy your sleep in the luxury of our off-grid tiny house cabin.

Your group shares the cabin with one double bed on the loft and a double sofabed in the living room.

You have an electric toilet and a shower in your cabin as well as a tiny kitchen with fridge, cooking possibility, coffee maker and water boiler. There is limited electricity and water but the water tank can be filled whenever needed.

Reviews

Andrea Dotto

“Such a magical experience. We did the walking with huskies in the snow covered forest. Our guide was really nice and welcoming. You can tell the dogs are living their best life at the farm. Thank you so much!”

Charlotte Park

“We did the aurora hunting husky walking tour and had an amazing time. We saw plenty of northern lights and got to have lots of cuddles with our own dog. Jiri was an awesome guide, and you could tell that he really loved all the dogs. The dogs seem to be very well looked after, which is very important to me when choosing a tour. Highly recommend Ilonka :)”

A way of living — not just a concept

At Ilonka, sustainability is not something we add on.
It’s simply how we live.

If you feel a desire to make more ethical and conscious choices, this experience invites you to step into that way of being — even if just for a few days.

During your stay, you become part of a small ecosystem where care, respect, and responsibility shape everyday life.

What this means in practice

  • we care deeply for our animals, prioritising their wellbeing, space, and natural rhythm
  • we work in close connection with the land, taking only what is needed and giving back where we can
  • we use local and seasonal ingredients whenever possible
  • we collaborate with small, local producers and partners
  • we value simplicity, low-impact living, and mindful use of resources

Nothing here is rushed, excessive, or wasteful —
just thoughtful, grounded, and real.
