This child-friendly activity is available during our public Farm Visit opening hours and must be booked in advance. Don’t forget: you’ll also need a Farm Visit / entrance ticket for your family.
What to Expect
In this unique hands-on session, children (approx. 4–17 years) learn how to drive a small sled pulled by 1–2 friendly huskies along a short, safe track on the farm or little forest.
- We begin by fetching the dogs together as a group and walking to the activity area.
- Each child receives clear instructions and support before trying the sledding themselves.
- The sleds and routes are adjusted to the child’s age and size to ensure safety and enjoyment.
- Parents may assist younger children when needed (even 3-year-olds have managed it!).
- Retired huskies love the slower pace, but younger, eager dogs sometimes take part too.
- Dog cuddles are absolutely included — both before and after the ride.
- Once all children have completed the ride, we return the dogs or prepare them for the next group.
- If snow or weather conditions don’t allow sledding, we’ll harness the dogs for a husky walk in the forest, with plenty of interaction and cuddles.
Kids’ Husky Sledding can only be booked as an add-on to the Farm Visit, so don’t forget to get entrance tickets for your family too!
Add Kids’ Husky Sledding to your Farm Visit!
Let your child experience the joy of husky sledding — safely, gently, and surrounded by the magic of Lapland!
This child-friendly activity is available as an add-on to the Farm Visit, and takes place daily at 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM during public opening hours.
What’s Included
Children aged approximately 4–17 years will:
- Use sleds and routes matched to their size for comfort and safety
- Receive clear instructions on how to drive a sled pulled by 1–2 huskies
- Try sledding on a short and safe track within the farm premises
- Meet our retired huskies who love this slower-paced activity (younger dogs may join, too)
- Be assisted by a parent if needed — even 3-year-olds have participated with help
- Enjoy dog cuddles as part of the experience!
Each session starts with gathering the dogs, followed by instructions and one-on-one sled rides. Afterward, we either return the dogs or prepare them for the next group.
Daily Time Slots
- 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM during public Farm Visit hours
- Duration depends on group size (approx. 45–60 minutes for 5–6 children)
- Each child gets their own turn on the sledding track
Weather Notice
In case of poor snow conditions, the sledding session is replaced with a husky walk and cuddle activity in the nearby forest.
